This car is more beautiful than your apartment

There are luxury cars and there is Maybach. The new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class puts the crown on its own genre and makes some apartments look rather old.

The corona pandemic has forced many of us to work from home. And so we not only spend time at home privately, but also at work. Anyone who has turned their own four walls into a neat nest should be pleased. Those who don’t are annoyed. No wonder that the demand for larger rental apartments and homes is increasing. But instead of a 3-room apartment you could also opt for a somewhat unconventional dwelling: the new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class. A comparison that is not meant very seriously.

The size

A normal 3-room apartment offers around 70 square meters of living space. Admittedly, the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is smaller in terms of area, but with a total length of more than 5.5 meters, a width of 1.9 meters and a wheelbase of more than 3.3 meters, it can compete with a small living room.

In the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class everything is of the finest quality: fine wood, lots of chrome, leather as soft as gloves and fluffy carpets. Gimmicks like a cooling compartment to store snacks for the small appetite and silver-plated champagne glasses are the icing on the cake.

The new Mercedes-Maybach S-Class combines luxury and technology at the highest level. Many of the details are handmade - including the two-tone paintwork.

This is what it should look like in the roof of the car: Noble wood, lots of chrome and glove-soft leather give the passengers a first-class feeling.

The design

Maybe you have some beautiful landscape pictures on your wall? Or even a poster of your favorite band? Maybe a string of lights creates a romantic atmosphere? It glitters and sparkles in the Mercedes-Maybach too. Chrome decorations as far as the eye can see. The speedometer display is an eye-catcher. The surround of the round instruments is made of rose gold and a digital gemstone glitters in a delicate purple in the middle.

The lighting conditions

A lot of daylight makes an apartment more attractive, hardly anyone wants to live in a dark cave. With the so-called adaptive ambient lighting, de Mercedes-Maybach S-Class goes one better. Inside the vehicle, you can set your own color scheme as you wish and play almost the entire Pantone color table up and down. There is even a “Welcome” pre-production that greets the passengers with a special play of light.

The comfort

A comfortable sofa or a cuddly armchair are a must for cozy well-being. Here, too, the Maybach outshines many an upholstered group. The lounge-like seats not only massage the back, shoulders and neck, but now also stressed calves. If you want, you can sleep in the Maybach, because the rear seats can be electrically extended to create a reclining area, similar to business class on an airplane.

The climate

Summer or winter, at home you always want to be cool in summer and warm in winter. Modern apartments offer underfloor heating that can both warm and cool. A piece of cake for the super sedan. The highlight: the Maybach S-Class even offers its own wellness programs. The so-called energizing coach can offer a suitable vitalization program based on vehicle and driving information. If the driver is stressed, for example, the limousine suggests a corresponding program in which he selects the seat air conditioning, the light, the massage unit and the right music.

The workout

Workouts in your own living room are more in demand than ever. And here, too, the noble body can keep up. The Energizing Coach also offers workouts. There are a total of three training units – muscle relaxation, muscle activation and balance – each with several exercises. The training can even be done while driving.

The home office

The home office – a curse and a blessing at the same time. The Maybach S-Class offers a luxurious alternative – probably the most exclusive home office on four wheels. Since the limousine is permanently online and has a stylish folding table, work is possible without any problems. A dedicated WiFi network ensures fast internet speeds. If you don’t have your laptop at hand, you can use one of the three tablets.

The entertainment program

Since the outbreak of the pandemic there has been streaming until the lines glow. Of course, this also works in the super sedan. Whether Netflix, Youtube, Spotify, Amazon Prime and whatever else there is. The possibilities to be entertained in the Maybach S-Class are almost limitless. So nothing stands in the way of a cozy movie evening.

The neighborhood

That is the big advantage of the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class – you don’t have one! No loud music from the party tiger above you, no baby screaming from the apartment next door and no recorders in children’s hands. And if it does get loud around the car, the luxury sedan has something like its own noise-canceling system. Similar to noise-canceling headphones, the new system reduces unwanted low-frequency noise with out-of-phase sound waves. Too complicated? To put it simply, the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is as quiet as a recording studio.

The sound system

Speaking of the recording studio: the sound system in the luxury limousine is a high-end 4D surround system from Burmester. If a name stands for high-end audio “Made in Germany” all over the world, it is without a doubt Burmester. Like hardly any other manufacturer, Burmester has won awards all over the world and is considered the reference in terms of sound.

The gimmicks

Little practical gimmicks are just great. There are apartments that have a built-in coffee machine or a laundry chute. The Maybach S-Class has doors that open automatically at the push of a button or a hand movement. The light spots inside can also be controlled by hand movements. However, for people with an active body language, this could eventually end in a disco light storm.

The price

The average rent for a 3-room apartment in Zurich is 2340 francs, which would be 28,080 francs a year. For a 3-room condominium in Zurich you have to reckon with around 1.2 million francs. Although the prices for the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class have not yet been determined, the same applies to the engines, but rumor has it that the super sedan will cost around 170,000 francs.
