Disney CEO Bob Iger reveals he has to overcome some roadblocks produced by the Marvel managing director, Ike Perlmutter Black Panther is Captain Marvel. The films, which grossed over $ 1 billion at the global box office, pushed the boundaries of the studio. Not only did the fans who aspired to the show finally see their dream come true on the screen, but Kevin Feige showed that Marvel Studios could derive from the stories of origin that populated his previous phases.
Marvel Studios have not always been a separate entity from Marvel Entertainment. In 2015, Disney separated the Marvel Studios from the Marvel entertainment at the behest of Feige, in order to allow the latter a more creative control of the highly successful film franchise. It was then that the plans for the films liked Black Panther is Captain Marvel they were put into action – the first one Iger says is the Marvel movie he's most proud of in his new memoir.

Yet it was not always easy to navigate to get there. In Iger's memoir, The Ride of a Lifetime, the CEO delves into some background behind the division and how it led to new loved ones added to the MCU. Before the decision to separate was taken, Iger had to prevail over the concerns of a film-loving Marvel executive Black Panther it should not be produced. While this is the first time that he publicly describes the details, the emails leaked between Marvel and Sony confirm his claims.
Feige warmly supported a Wakanda film, but apparently one of the New York executives (which is where the offices of Marvel Entertainment are located, run by Ike Perlmutter) raised some objections. They indicated the black characters and presumably the films with black actors, with lower performances on a global level. Fortunately, Iger did not want to refer to obsolete beliefs and unsupported data, instead wishing to expand opportunities for African American directors and other black artists in the sector. In The Ride of a Lifetime, explained how passionate he was about the need for diversity:
"I've been in the industry long enough to have listened to every old discussion in the book, and I've learned that the old discussions are just that: old and out of step with where the world is and where it should be. I had the chance to do a great movie and to show a segment of the under-represented America and those objectives were not mutually exclusive.I called Ike and told him to tell his team to stop putting blocks and I ordered that we both put Black Panther is Captain Marvel in production ".
What followed was legendary stuff. Feige went almost from the exit of the company to enter a high position and exercise creative control, allowing Marvel Studios to reach new heights. Since then, Marvel Television has also produced some important gems, such as those of Freeform Cloak and dagger and the subsequent seasons of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but it cannot be denied that commercial glory belongs to films. Combining economic success with the necessary racial and gender representation, Marvel Studios have touched hearts and paperbacks in the same way.
Phase 4, meanwhile, shows no signs of slowing down. Spider-Man could be out, but Black Widow is finally getting his movie after a decade. Meanwhile, both The eternals is Shang-Chi promise to bring new perspectives and even more diversity to the universe. Whatever may have been someone's concern about the introduction of T & # 39; Challa and Carol Danvers, their immense success as characters and the intense anticipation for Black Panther is Captain Marvel the sequels serve as proof that Iger and Feige have always had the right idea.
