Introduction to Ancestry LE: 19:00 to 20:30, EBR Main Library, 7711 Goodwood Blvd. Learn to use the Library Edition of Tips and techniques for effective research and navigation in its main historical collections such as vital documents, census lists, immigration documents and city lists. Wednesday 25 September

Author event: 18:00 to 20:00, Louisiana State Archive, 3851 Essen Lane. Faye Phillips will discuss his book, "Historic Magnolia Cemetery," which he wrote with Chip Landry. Inserted in the National Register of Historic Places, the cemetery is the burial place of some of the most important citizens of Baton Rouge, dating back to the early 1800s. The cemetery was the fighting site during the battle of the Baton Rouge civil war.

Thursday, September 26th

Book Club: 11am to 1pm, Central Branch Library EBR, 11260 Joor Road. The Central Book Club will discuss "Little Fires Everywhere" by Celeste Ng.

Book Club: 18:00 to 20:00, EBR Main Library, 7711 Goodwood Blvd. The Science Fiction Book Club will discuss "The Calculating Stars" by Mary Robinette Kowal. The discussion on the book starts at 6.30pm

Saturday, September 28th

Book sales: from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, recycled readings, 3434 North Blvd. The sale of the EBR fiction of fiction books, cookbooks, textbooks, history, travel, art, crafts, children's books and other, along with DVDs and CDs. Books cost $ 1 for hardcover books, larger paperbacks, DVDs, and audiobooks; 25 cents for paperbacks in paperbacks. Cash only. The proceeds go to the Patrons of the Public Library, which helps fund children's summer programming and community programs throughout the year, such as the Author / Illustrator program.

Authors' Event: 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, EBR Main Library, 7711 Goodwood Blvd. Catharine Savage Brosman and Olivia McNeely Pass will talk and sign copies of their book, "Louisiana Poets: A Literary Guide." careers and works of writers whose verse is closely related to the populations, history and landscapes of Louisiana or whose education or artistic development occurred in the state.


Tuesday, September 24th

Confessions of a former monkey mind doctor: 6.30pm, LP South Library, 6101 Johnston St. Daniel Povinelli, professor of biology at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, will discuss his 30 years of studying chimpanzees and children in the attempt to understand what makes humans human. He will also discuss his upcoming play, "Confessions of a Former Monkey Mind Doctor", which will be presented at the Acadiana Center for the Arts October 4-5. Starting at 14 years.

Wednesday 25 September

Book Club: 18:00 to 19:00, Regional Western Library LP, 501 Old Spanish Trail, Scott. The Romance Book Club will meet. Come and share your love for the romantic genre.
